OUR STORY
Our Goal
Our goal is to inspire and equip our community to get out, stay out and have fun in the sun.
Our Gear
Our gear is engineered for performance to breath, wick, dry quick and resist odor. Our products are uber sun protective, ultralight in weight and silky soft to the touch. Beyond the technical jargon, we like to say we create functional outdoor gear that is fun to wear.
Our Story
While preparing for his backcountry adventures, our founder Troy was looking for the perfect outdoor apparel that would allow him to travel, hike, camp, fly fish and stay outside for hours, days, weeks and sometimes months at a time. He wanted something that would be comfortable, lightweight, multi-functional and perform. Could there be a piece of apparel that would be useful from the beach to the desert to the mountains? Mostly, he wanted some gear that would allow him to enjoy the outdoors and have fun. He discovered that a performance sun hoodie fulfilled all the requirements. He added a trucker hat and some bold sunglasses for a little style. He liked the kit so much that he decided to share it with his friends.
Our Designs
We believe in the philosophy that "Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away". We design, reduce, refine and test our gear until we're happy. Then we do it all over again. This makes us even happier. We may not always achieve perfection, but in our quest we will get closer.
Taking inspiration from the ultralight backpacking community, our name and logo were created by evaluating the common unit of measurement, the "Ounce". Then we abbreviated it to "oz.". Then we cut out the unnecessary bits. When there was nothing more to take away; we had our name and logo.
Our Inspiration
The sun is out! It's nice outside - go travel, run, walk, hike, hangout in hammock, cast a line, climb a rock, swim in the sea, practice yoga, plant some veggies, paddle down a river and watch the sun set.
Go have fun in the sun!

YOU AND THE SUN
A walk in the woods—or even a sound machine that plays recordings from nature—can affect heart rate and alter connections in the brain, say researchers.
You know that feeling of clear-headed calm that washes over you when you listen to water babbling down a stream, or leaves rustling in the wind? Researchers say they’ve pinpointed a scientific explanation for why sounds from nature have such a restorative effect on our psyche: According to a new study, they physically alter the connections in our brains, reducing our body’s natural fight-or-flight instinct.
Natural sounds and green environments have been linked with relaxation and well-being for hundreds of years, of course. But the new research, published in the journal Scientific Reports, is the first to use brain scans, heart-rate monitors, and behavioral experiments to suggest a physiological cause for these effects.

How Do I Protect Myself from Ultraviolet (UV) Rays?
Protect yourself from the sun
Some people think about sun protection only when they spend a day at the lake, beach, or pool. But sun exposure adds up day after day, and it happens every time you are in the sun. Even though sunlight is the main source of UV rays, you don’t have to avoid the sun completely. And it would be unwise to stay inside if it would keep you from being active, because physical activity is important for good health. But getting too much sun can be harmful. There are some simple steps you can take to limit your exposure to UV rays.
Simply staying in the shade is one of the best ways to limit your UV exposure. If you are going to be in the sun, “Slip! Slop! Slap!® and Wrap” is a catchphrase that can help you remember some of the key steps you can take to protect yourself from UV rays:
Slip on a shirt.
Slop on sunscreen.
Slap on a hat.
Wrap on sunglasses to protect the eyes and skin around them.
Seek shade... read more
